| Cole Valley doorway opening This doorway from the kitchen to the living room was a standard 32" and therefore did not let much needed light into the kitchen. When remodeling the kitchen, we took advantage of this time to open the door up to double its original size. We replicated the Victorian trim that was on the other doorways so it would blend in nicely with the original molding in the rest of the flat. Not only does it now let more light into the kitchen, but allows a nice view out to the garden from the kitchen table. | |
| Mission district hallway remodel This hallway was long overdue for some help. When the client had central heat installed, her classic hallway gas heating unit was removed and she was left with a gaping hole in the hall. In addition, some repair work had been done to the ceiling and the walls. Not all the trim matched and was quite an eyesore. We demolished the walls down to the studs, removed the old track lighting and started from scratch. We installed new drywall, new Edwardian-replica trim, baseboards, and picture molding. In addition, we installed recessed lighting that gives the hallway a much larger feel. Lastly, we installed new prefinished teak hardwood flooring throughout the hall and the adjacent dining room. | |
